Generally speaking, both devices are excellent. The Google Home and Amazon Echo have each other's advantages over the other, like the Echo having more integrated support for home automation devices including lights, WiFi switches and thermostats.
However, according to a report by Forbes, there are important areas where Google Home beats its competition.
Better at Streaming Music
Google Home understands what its user would like to listen to better because of YouTube Music. You can tell both the Home and Echo what music to play and have totally different understandings. Just for $10 subscription to YouTube Music, there will be no ads and you will have access to a music service that works with having a visual format or audio only.
Better Query Coverage
The Echo doesn't understand the internet as well as Home as it will have difficulty answering long questions like "Why did World War 2 start?" It will probably answer with a generic "sorry." Google Home occasionally has this problem but it rarely does.
Better Voice Recognition
The Google Home has better voice recognition than its counterpart, even behind a partially closed door; the Google Home is still able to recognize your voice. This is a very important element of voice-activated speaker and even the tiniest change in quality of how it understands you make a vital difference. Additionally, other people say it's more natural to say "Alexa" than "Ok Google," Home also recognizes "Hey Google" which is much easier to say.
Kartik Ayyar, the person who gave his insights on both devices, stated that he owns both the Google Home and the Amazon Echo and he definitely recommend you buying one for yourself.
