Starz has officially picked up "Outlander" for Season 3 and 4, which are adaptations of Diana Gabaldon's novels, "Voyager" and "Drums of Autumn," respectively. Caitriona Balfe shared some details on what to expect for "Outlander" Season 3.

In a video interview with The Wrap, Balfe, who plays Claire Randall in "Outlander," teased that there will be a reunion between her character and Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan). The two have not seen each other in 20 years and both believed that each other already died. At the end of the second season finale of "Outlander," Claire and Jamie were separated in different time periods.

Balfe said that "Outlander" changes everything at the start of every season. At the start of Season 3, viewers will realize that the stories are quite separate. More about Jamie will be shown, particularly his experiences in the last two decades. Claire will also be featured as a surgeon. There will be a lot of changes.

Balfe said that in "Outlander" Season 3, Claire will be with Frank (Tobias Menzies) in Boston, and Brianna (Sophie Skelton) at times. The actress continued that there will definitely be a reunion between Claire and Jamie, although she cannot say more about it. Balfe hinted that fans will be happy about the much-awaited meeting. The production for "Outlander" will move from Scotland as the story progresses to the Caribbean. Balfe said that they will film in South Africa, which will serve as a replacement for Jamaica.

Balfe told Gold Derby during a webcam chat that it is amazing to play a great love story in so many ways in "Outlander." The actress shared that although it is only fantasy, they are always trying to make it feel as real and human as possible. She added that there is a place in the TV landscape for such a story and she is proud that they are putting it out for people to connect with. She loves how they successfully let viewers relate with "Outlander" and thinks that it is important that they embrace that aspect of the show.

"Outlander" Season 3 is set to premiere sometime in 2017 on Starz. More updates and details are expected soon.
