Another Superman villain will enter the latest season of "Supergirl.'' Trickster Superman villain Mr. Mxyzptlk is confirmed to appear on two episodes.

Comicbook reported in December that it is the fifth dimensional rascal with reality warping powers who will be part of the series. Mr. Mxyzptlk is popular known as the nemesis who loves to show up in Metropolis to irritate Superman. The only way to get rid of him is to get him to say his name backwards.

Now TV Line has confirmed that Peter Gadiot would play the part of Mr. Mxyzptlk, who will actually first appear in episode 13 of "Supergirl" season 2. It is not clear yet if he will have a back-story with Superman in the series. However, if it is a reason to have Tyler Hoechlin return as the Man of Steel, this would mean a lot of fun for the show.

Mxyzptlk was a basic presense in numerous "Super Friends" animated adventures. His best moment away of the comics remains his two appearances on "Superman: The Animated Series." Gilbert Gottfried voiced him to perfection in that show. Mxyzptlk is fundamentally a Looney Tunes character in a superhero setting.

This is not the character's first appearance in live action. He appeared in all of his comic book glory on the "Superboy" TV series in the 1980s, portrayed by Michael J. Pollard. Howie Mandel also portrayed the character in a less visual version in "Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman." This trickster also appeared in unnatural form on a particularly bad episode of "Smallville," reported Den of Geek.
