These artificially intelligent assistants surprised the world with its usefulness, however, the Japanese have also created always inventions that are as important and now, it has created an artificially intelligent assistant-like that is set to shock the world.
Azuma Hikari is a holographic character who lives inside the Gatebox although it's not really like the same as Amazon Echo. Rather, it is a "Gatebox" with plain, cylindrical speaker design that has a screen and a projector. Hikari, which means "light", is the virtual girl living inside it. Meanwhile, its exterior is composed of cameras, microphones, and sensors to distinguish various temperature and motion which enables the artificially-created visual to interact on a more personal level, than the usual voice over the phone.
According to Digital Trends, Hikari is a fully interactive holographic character who can basically control the "smart" home equipment around. The built-in sensors are able to recognize its owner's voice and face and it is designed to be someone who can wake its user in the morning, instead of a typical alarm. It can also fill the user in terms of day activities, remind important things to remember, and even welcomes the users once he/she got back home.
Hikari also features a Bluetooth and a permanent internet connection for easy connectivity Furthermore, it the Gatebox can be connected by using an HDMI connection to the TV.
However, Azuma Hikari only speaks and understands Japanese for the meantime but, she is still in the process of learning new skills and languages for more user's convenience. For now, the holographic assistant can hold verbal communications and users can communicate to her via messages in the companion app available for both iOS and Android devices. According to Business Insider UK, it will cost around £2,000 and will be available in the market next year.
