Isn't it difficult to browse music on your phone while you're driving, working out or doing any physical activities? Speak Music has a solution for you. "Melody" is an app that you can use to request songs using just your voice, according to a report by Digital Trends.
With the acquisition of the Joy music assistant, Speak Music was able to develop Melody, which is a product that is capable of supporting streaming services. Dean Summers, co-founder of Speak Music, stated, "We created a platform that allows users to simply speak what they want to hear and it plays, instantly." He also added, "We are bringing innovation in voice technology and artificial intelligence to deliver hands-free and eyes-free audio entertainment to the masses."
According to a report by Venture Beat, Melody is similar to Siri, but made specifically for music. The app needs to be opened and you have to press the microphone icon to start requesting music, either from your locally stored music files or from streaming services like iHeartRadio, YouTube or Spotify.
The company explained that most people spend their time listening to music using smartphones while engaged in other activities like working out, studying or driving. A voice-activated app is a solution to alleviate the limitations of using a mobile device for music such as the small screen size and the tendency to be distracting.
Additionally, Melody can also be a personal assistant when it comes to music as it learns from you voice commands to give you the best results. You can teach it by saying "Learn my shower song."
The app is free and is now available for download for iOS devices. The Android version will be announced on a later date.
