A hotly awaited episode of "Smackdown Live" transpired spawning from the previous week's critically praised episode. "Smackdown Live" lived up from its previous week's defeat by thrilling the fans with an Intercontinental Championship match, a contract signing and another highly anticipated fight.

The Miz And Maryse

The Intercontinental Champion The Miz and his wife Maryse start the show. The Miz demands the apology from Renee Young who slapped him for an unfitting remark weeks ago. Young does not show up, but Dean Ambrose does. As she enters the ring Maryse blocks her while The Miz flees, Maryse slaps Ambrose before leaving the ring of "WWE."

Baron Corbin Defeated Dolph Ziggler

Baron Corbin and Ziggler operated an excellent match. The in-ring work and drama were outstanding. Corbin kicked Ziggler, giving us the hint that Ziggler will not win. Towards the middle of the match, the wrestlers somehow started acting as if there is going to be an unexpected ending. Corbin got a clean win after three counts, left the ring and grabbed a chair that he wanted to use on Ziggler. Before he could do this, Kalisto came running and saved Ziggler.

Becky Lynch Defeated La Luchadora

This is a quick match but not at all entertaining. The ending, however, partially sparks interest. Alexa Bliss was garbed as La Luchadora. She swiftly tapped out to the Dis-Arm-Her. However, the intriguing part was the presence of another woman in a La Luchadora outfit. She was a distraction that helped Alexa defeat Becky. According to speculations, the second La Luchadora is a certain NXT Superstar who is yet to be named, says Forbes.

John Cena, AJ Styles, Baron Corbin

It was a contract signing. Styles carried some serious air as he targeted John Cena's part-time status and called him a has-been and said that they can do it without Cena. After his tirade, Cena stood up and gave him words he will never forget. "Styles walk the ramp because he has to, while he walks the ramp because he wants to," he said. He added that Styles is no different from anyone who chants "Cena Sucks" because, on his best days, he can never equal him. Corbin then came to the ring and announced his intention to enter the Royal Rumble. He got into a conflict with Cena, but Styles cheap shotted The Franchise and the two heels left him.

Other events at "Smackdown Live" included Carmella defeating Alyna and American Alpha taking out BreeZango. Meanwhile, Dean Ambrose defeated The Miz, with Ambrose going home with the Intercontinental championship belt.
