Only recently did "The Walking Dead" reach mid-season of its 7th season. The mid-season finale was titled "Hearts Still Beating" and it ended on a power packed note. Rick and team decided they were not okay with the use and abuse of Negan and that the tyranny called for a massive rebellion.

This is a build up towards an 'All out War' angle set forth by the "Walking Dead" comic series. This episode started off really well with the fans because it received amazing ratings for the network (AMC). However, with the passing of time, these figures were distorted heavily as fans said they were getting increasingly disinterested in the show and its sluggish plot-line.

However, some negative criticism has failed to outshine the general fact that the "Walking Dead" as both a TV series and the original comic series are running success in each respective segments. They have been enjoying great success in their respective media and it does not seem like either of the series will end anytime soon. We expect the stakeholders to milk the benefits of the franchise quite a lot longer.

However, they are facing a dilemma similar to the famous "Game of Thrones" franchise- the TV series will become quite similar to the source material it derives its plot from. What will be so interesting about "The Walking Dead" TV series that we cannot already see or read in the comic book series? Will the producers do the same thing that brains behind "Game of Thrones" did- develop a completely new plot different than the original books itself with the help of the writer George R.R. Martin?

Only recently did a fan of the "The Walking Dead" TV series asked Robert Kirkman about the fact that whether the TV series were threatened by catching up on the comic series itself.

"It took us 6 seasons to get to [issue] 100, it won't take us 6 years to get to 200 and that will take us to the season ... TWELVE. And we'll still be ahead of the show at that point," replied the creator Kirkman.

He has no fears about the "The Walking Dead" TV series taking over the comic series because there are almost 50 issues of difference between the episode and the released comic book issue. The books are published on a more regular and fast basis and this will ensure that "The Walking Dead" TV series doesn't share the same fate as that of "Game of Thrones".
