Switching to Samsung Galaxy S3 or other Galaxy smartphone has just got easier for iPhone users. The Korean tech giant has launched a new app that allows users to dump all the content from iPhone to Samsung Galaxy smartphone.
Samsung UK on Friday started publicizing a new app that allows iPhone users to transfer data from iOS to a Samsung Galaxy series smartphone. Utilizing the new Samsung app, called "Easy Phone Sync", Galaxy owners can now import contacts and text messages from iTunes. Moreover, it also allows users to transfer music, pictures, videos, podcasts and playlists. However, the content must be DRM (Digital Rights Management) free.
"We're really proud to announce the launch of this new application and can't wait to hear what our new and existing customers think of it. We know that traditionally iPhone users have been reluctant to switch to an Android device because they couldn't use iTunes to manage their content. Easy Phone Sync means people can now enjoy their iTunes content on a Samsung Galaxy phone. What's more is that it's really easy for them to do, and literally takes five minutes to set up," said Simon Stanford, VP Telecommunication and Networks, Samsung UK.
One of the main problems that users have been facing when switching from one mobile platform to another is transferring of personal data and digital content from one smartphone to another. Getting contacts, messages, photos, music and apps is a tricky process. While iOS apps cannot be ported to Android, Samsung is giving option to transfer everything else to its Galaxy series of smartphones. Once installed, the package allows Galaxy owners can hook up their smartphone with iTunes.
Developed by Media Mushroom, the Easy Phone Sync app is available in Google Play Store. The software for PC or Mac is downloadable from easyphonesync.com. First, user will need to extract the data from iTunes using the desktop client. Then this data is pushed to Android smartphone using the mobile app.
