Marvel superhero Daisy Johnson, also known as Quake, has already had her shot at being the director of the massive spy organization known as S.H.I.E.L.D. in the comics, but what about her television series counterpart, which is played by Chole Bennet? Well, ABC's "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." executive producer, Jed Whedon, seems to think she may actually have the potential to be one - at least in the coming future.
The revelation came out to the public after Whedon addressed some fan questions involving Daisy and the whole branch of S.H.I.E.L.D. in Entertainment Weekly's Spoiler Room article.
"We've hinted at it a bit, that Coulson thinks she can play more of a leadership role," Whedon said when asked if Daisy could one day become the organization's director. "We'll see how it goes, and where the story takes her. She's been through a lot so that usually turns someone from a rookie into a seasoned veteran, which is what you need to lead. We'll see if she steps up to the plate."
This doesn't necessarily mean that Daisy will become the organization's director soon. According to the report from Comicbook.com, Jeffrey Mace (Jason O'Mara) is still in active duties as the director in "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." and it seems like he will continue to take up the role in the episodes to come.
As for Daisy, on the other hand, she already proved to everyone that she is a capable fighter in the show, specifically when she stood up to a lot of powerful Inhumans, particularly Hive, and when she formed the group called Secret Warriors, Screenrant reported.
This does make a valid point regarding her credibility as the potential director of the organization in the future. But for now, it's best for fans to keep an open mind and wait for further hints for her future role.
"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." will return to ABC on Jan. 10, 2017.
