Many fans are still awaiting news regarding the "Rick and Morty" Season 3 release date on Adult Swim. It has been over a year since the show aired its Season 2 finale, so several fans could not help but wonder when the show will release new episodes on air.
Some fans, however, began to express their frustrations on the "delay" in the release of "Rick and Morty" Season 3 via messages to the show's co-creator Dan Harmon on Twitter. According to Inverse, Harmon did not take the demands so well.
Harmon responded to the said tweets and explained that the process of creating an animated series is not as easy as others think. He also slammed tweets demanding him to get back to work instead of tweeting about other things.
It can be recalled that Harmon previously shared that the target for the "Rick and Morty" Season 3 premiere is around the end of 2016. However, latest updates reveal that they have just finished three episodes into the season.
Mr. Poopybutthole's statements during the Season 2 finale closing credits may, therefore, be correct that "Rick and Morty" Season 3 will be released in March 2017. Entertainment Weekly reports that a comic version of the show will also be released in the coming year.
According to the report, the Adult Swim series will have a comic book counterpart called "Rick & Morty: Pocket Like You Stole It." The comic is based on the mobile game "Pocket Mortys," which involve battles with tiny Morty's.
