Honor 8 will be acquiring an Android Nougat update come February 2017, as confirmed by multiple outlets. The said update will offer standard Android Nougat features for the Honor 8, which includes split-screen, quick reply and multi-tasking features. However, it is said to have impacted Huawei's EMUI skin tremendously.
It has been reported that Honor 8 EMUI skin will have a sudden overhaul due to the release of the Android 7.0 Nougat. Huawei is known for delivering awesome hardware but had always missed the mark when it comes to Android skins. Software issues have clouded Huawei's profitability for the recent years and the company is expecting that improvements will be seen upon the release of Android 7.0 Nougat to their Honor 8 Smartphone.
In the Tech Times report for EMUI 5.0, the following are the expected outcomes of the new Huawei skin: UI elements mimicked from IOS that feels a lot like Android is the main improvement with this change. Aside from that, parallel run for different profiles was greatly improved effortlessly switching between personal and professional accounts. There is also machine learning which allows EMUI 5.0 to optimize resource processes through analysis of user behavior prioritizing apps which are used frequently.
Also expected in the Honor 8 Android Nougat release on February - EMUI 5.0 will come with added flexibility and capability on security. A smarter power management system that allows users to manage their device battery consumption has been added to the changes. As of this moment, there is no specified date of the release - but this updated definitely shows that there is something to look forward to with Honor 8.
