"Scream Queens" airs its season finale and up to this point, the Ryan Murphy brainchild still does not hit the mark. After its debut last season, Fox was hopeful that the show will guarantee a millennial following which turned out to be a failed attempt.
"Scream Queens" just simply does not have the charm as Murphy's hit show Glee. But the Season 2 finale shows promise as Lea Michele's Hester, the show's resident sociopath, remains to be the only glimmer in the horror anthology. In its first season, the show only hit 1.1, which is its highest as Season 2 averages 0.6 rating from ages 18-49. With these figures, "Scream Queens" is regarded as one of the lowest-rated broadcasted programs this year.
Still, Fox gave it a chance for a second season which astounded media buyers. Fortunately, it received a lot of online loving and DVR playback but would it be enough for the show to have a third season? The season has ended but there is still no word about it coming back. There is no news about cancellation either.
The show never really took off and its following declined as the season went on. It bowed to low numbers and only declined as the year went on. Still, Fox renewed the program, baffling media buyers. In the "Scream Queens" season finale, Green Meanie exacts a revenge but a shocking twist unfolds.
Although it drew a good amount of online viewing and DVR playback, they couldn't understand why the network would bring back a show that so clearly was of interest to so few people. With New Girl and Brooklyn Nine-NIne both suffering huge losses in the ratings game as well, it looks like "Scream Queens" will finally hit the sack with the finale episode today.
