Dragon Ball Fusions for Nintendo 3DS has finally arrived, but the question is: how does it standout from the other Dragon Ball games?
In a YouTube video posted by GameSpot, Dragon Ball Fusions show a colourful design and almost all Dragon Ball characters from the hit Japanese anime series. However, the game's storyline was not taken from any of the anime or manga series --- assuring players of fresh content. You start by creating your own character by choosing one of the races from the series. You also get to decide what hairstyle, facial features, and voice your character will have. After which, you can explore the beautifully rendered environments and structures in-game.
Your friend in the game named Pinnich, a character exclusively created for Fusions, has the ability to collect all seven Dragon Balls and entitled to make a single wish. His wish is pretty simple; he wishes to have the biggest tournament ever to determine the strongest fighter of them all. From there, you explore the game while recruiting familiar faces to join you in your battle --- from young Goku to the most recent characters in Dragon Ball Super.
Your character also get to explore 3D environments as you visit towns. There, you can complete side quests, buy items in shops, or speak to the townpeople for information. Fusions's battle system is pretty unique as the other Dragon Ball games --- a fighting game with a turn-based like system. However, it becomes frustrating when the game asks you to perform specific actions to win just when the battle is about to end.
According to GameSpot, some attacks have cut scenes that you won't be able to skip, which can be exhausting after a while. Fighting low-level enemies just for the purpose of levelling up can also get quite tedious and repetitive.
Overall, Dragon Ball Fusions is not a perfect game due to its repetitiveness, but it is still a good game to play.
