"Pokémon Sun and Moon" has introduced a new feature in the game, the QR scanner, and here's everything you need to know about it.

What Is A QR Scanner?

"Pokémon Sun and Moon"'s new QR scanner allows you to obtain information about a particular Pokémon, regardless if you have already caught them or not. This can be done by scanning th Pokémon's unique QR code.

After scanning these QR codes, information about that Pokémon will be registered to your Pokédex, including its spawn locations. It is quite handy for Pokémon trainers who do not have that particular mon on their roster yet.

QR codes can also be shared among friends, as the QR code pattern is also displayed in your Pokédex.

Find A Rare Pokémon Using The QR Scanner

Apart from scanning information about the Pokémon in the area, the QR Scanner can also net you rare Pokémon if used often.

Each scanned QR code will give you 10 points, and collecting 100 points will unlock the Island Scan function. Use this to pinpoint a rare Pokémon within your area. The result will last for an hour after the scan is made.
