"Narcos" is set to return for Season 3. According to reports, the popular Netflix TV series will move on from Pedro Escobar and shift its focus on a new Colombian gang. Moreover, the Javier-Steve duo is reportedly to be replaced by two new actors.
According to one report, on the next season of the crime web TV series, fans reportedly will be seeing a lot of new faces and a new plot.
In the season 2 finale, Pablo Escobar, the rich and influential kingpin died after being shot by the authorities. According to reports, "Narcos" Season 3 will focus on another Colombian gang. Per Gold Coast Bulletin, Pablo Escobar's death ended the era of drug trafficking. However, it also gives birth to another one.
After Don Pablo's death, Mexico also stole Medellin's crown as the biggest narcotic operator. The Sinaloa cartel and the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) rival in doing the bulks of the businesses per the US Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA).
Three men from the said cartels emerge as the next Pablo Escobar and they are Sinaloa's Ismael "El Mayo" Zambada García and Rafael Caro Quintero, and CJNG's Nemesio "El Mencho" Oseguera Cervantes. However, aside from the three the most popular kingpin that headed Sinaloa using the Escobar-style is the Mexican drug kingpin Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman Loera. Thus, "Narcos" Season 3 might feature one of them.
Meanwhile, Michael Stahl-David and Matt Whelan recently joined the cast. Stahl-David will step into the role of young American DEA agent Chris Feistl, who sought to be assigned to Colombia and Whelan will be his partner, Daniel Van Ness. Of the two, Feistl is the more serious one, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
According to some media sources, the two could end up replacing the Javier-Steve duo. However, only when "Narcos" Season 3 returns that fans can confirm this speculation. The famous Netflix crime series is currently on its production period and it expected to return sometime on 2017.
