Famous original Netflix series "Narcos" has been getting a lot of attention and the streaming giant has just renewed it for season 3 and 4. Even more, fans are glad for the new trailer released for the third installment.

Entertainment Weekly reported that Netflix has just renewed the addictive drug trafficking drama for another two years, despite that fact that Pablo Escobar (Wagner de Moura) died in the season 2 finale.

To recall, "Narcos" season 2 was about the fall of Pablo Escobar and on the season's finale focused on the death of the Colombian drug kingpin who was the main antagonist of the series.

Reports then claim that many viewers are wondering how they could expect another two more seasons when Pablo is no longer alive in the series.

Executive producer Eric Newman told The Hollywood Reporter that "Narcos is about cocaine and cocaine continues beyond Escobar" and that "I'll go as long as they'll let me go."

"We purposely did not call the show Pablo Escobar Medellin ... If somebody wants another season of the show, we would sit down and draw from the pretty massive amount of real estate and research that we've done and do something kind of cool," Newman added.

Interestingly, the announcement trailer for "Narcos" season 3 revealed that the Cali cartel, the Columbian gang who is responsible for 90 percent of the world's cocaine market, will become the focus of this continuing story with leader Gilberto Rodriguez Orejuela (Damian Alcazar) becoming the new antagonist.

For the new protagonists, it is still unclear whether it will be the continuing story of DEA agents Javier Pena (Pedro Pascal) and Steve Murphy (Boyd Holbrook) will be the focus of the story. Pena will continue to play a part in the Cali cartel story as implied on the second season.

However, it is still not sure whether Murphy will stay to continue the story as he was noted leaving Colombia shortly after Escobar died.

"I am really proud of Murphy's story and the evolution. One of the things you have to consider is: Is his story over?," Newman stated in the interview teasing fans on what will happen to Murphy.

Meanwhile, José Padilha of "RoboCop" and Eric Newman of "Children of Men" will continue to serve as executive producers of the "Narcos" series.
