Fans of "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 are still hoping for Nina Dobrev to reprise her role in the series finale after leaving the show in 2015.
Though there were no confirmations yet as to whether or not she will return before the series will wrap up next year, reports about Dobrev's comeback for the last time continue to swirl on the web.
Previous reports said that the actress might possibly comeback not as Elena but as Katherine and this was further fuelled when in the fourth episode entitled "An Eternity of Misery", Georgie's soul gets sucked into the shadows similar to Katherine Pierce who was also sucked by the same evil force in Season 5.
"I will confirm nothing, but the visual similarities are not accidental," Plec told Entertainment Weekly when asked about Dobrev's potential return after the latest death, adding that, "The big question of the season is: How do our characters fit in this world? Are they all doomed? Is there a chance for redemption? Can you earn your way back out of a one-way ticket to Hell? And even characters that have been heroes, are they already marked? If so, what the hell are they going to do about it?"
In the previous interview of Plec with Digital Spy, she said that she wants the actress to come back before the series ends however, it would all boil down to the "logistics."
"She's said she would [come back] and I want her to," Plec said. "So honestly it becomes a matter of logistics and if we become victim to logistics, then that would be devastating. I'm hoping that's not even going to be an issue."
Moreover, other reports suggested that Nina Dobrev and Ian Someralder, who is playing as Damon, will be reuniting for one last time.
Rumors and speculations about Nina Dobrev reprising her role in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 will continue unless the showrunner, Julie Plec will finally confirm.
