A new online ad for "Black Mirror" features people getting implant in the neck called "Netflix Vista." Season 4 may remake the hit episode "The Entire History Of You" before Robert Downey Jr. can turn it into a film.
Netflix released a new online ad in conjuction with last month's "Black Mirror" Season 3 featuring people binge watching the series through their own eyeballs. The said technology is called "Netflix Vista," where it imagines a future where everyone has implants that allow them to augment reality with video overlays.
The ad garnered some negative reviews on the Internet, including from Gizmodo, saying that the video may have discouraged viewers from watching Netflix.
According to Screen Crush, the faux ad spotlighting the contact lenses technology reminiscent of "Black Mirror" Season 1's third episode titled "The Entire History Of You." The said episode is also expected to be remade on Season 4.
The 3rd episode of "Black Mirror" Season 1, however, was already owned by Robert Downey Jr. who is reportedly planning to turn it into a movie. According to previous reports, the "Iron Man" actor loved the episode so much that he bought the rights to produce it to a film.
While there is no confirmation from Netflix about the possibility, many reports have speculated that it can possibly make a remake as the story could fit in the upcoming "Black Mirror" Season 4. RDJ is reportedly negotiating with Netflix about the remake on the 4th installment.
Meanwhile, for those questioning the fate of "Black Mirror" Season 4, Mirror UK reported that Netflix has confirmed the renewal of the 4th installment with 12 episodes.
Additionally, actress Jodie Foster is bound to direct an episode of "Black Mirror" Season 4, where Rosemarie Dewitt will be starring.
"Black Mirror" Season 4 production will start later this year and id expected to premiere by fall 2017 on Netflix.
