Motorola is known for its cutting-edge technology fitted in a budget smartphone. Today, we have three of the latest offering from Motorola: the Moto M, Moto X, and Moto Z. Let's compare them.
The Moto Z offers a 5.5-inch AMOLED displays while, the Moto M, has also gone with a 5.5-inch display, but with a Super AMOLED. The Moto X has the smallest 4.7" AMOLED display. The resolution on the M is the best with 1440 x 2560, followed by the Z and then X.
The Moto X comes with Gorilla Glass 3 protection, while the Moto Z has 4th gen protection of the same. However, there is no confirmation regarding Moto M.
When it comes to the Moto M, you're getting a Helio P15 processor, 4GB RAM and 32GB storage. Meanwhile, Moto X has Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, Adreno 530 GPU, and 4 GB of RAM. Unlikely, Moto X lags far behind with dual-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor with 1.4 GHz and 2GB RAM. Only Moto X and Moto M offers option to upgrade the storage via the MicroSD card slot up to 256GB
It looks like the Moto M comes with larger Li-Ion 3050 mAh battery than the Moto Z's Li-Ion 2600 mAh battery followed by Moto X's 2200mAh battery.
Both the handset runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It is also been notified that the Moto Z will get an upgrade to Android 7.0. However Moto X lags behind even after an upgrade with Android 5.2 (Lollipop) OS.
The Moto Z has a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with dual-LED flash while the Moto M comes with a 16-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture, and phase detection autofocus. Moto M boasts 8MP in front snapper while Moto Z have only 5MP with LED flash. Moto X has comparatively lower 10MP primary camera with flash and only 2MP lens in front snapper.
The Motorola Moto M seems to have an edge over the Moto Z with its all-metal body and slightly improved specs. Still, the Moto Z has the latest offering as Moto Mods. On the other hand, the Moto X is a August 2013 release, therefore, it lags behind in all features.
