Samsung has recently announced that the Galaxy series will be the first to get the Android Nougat update. However, there was no specific mentions of the Galaxy J7 and J5 smartphones.
The initial Android 6.0 update for galaxy smartphones were released in June 2016.
The Galaxy J series is one of the most popular smartphones from Samsung due to its cost and features. Among the J-series, the J2 is not likely to get the Android 7.0 update
Other J-series devices that are likely to get the update are the Galaxy J7 Prime, Galaxy J7 (2016), Galaxy J7, Galaxy J5 (2016), Galaxy J5, Galaxy J3 Pro and J3. The update release is expected by the second quarter of 2017. These are not official, though and will remain to be speculations until a list gets published officially.
The latest Android Nougat 7.0 was released in Google Pixel Phones with the amazing Google Assistant. It was rolled out in August, first to the previous Google Nexus 5X and Nexus 6. The latest Nougat comes with improved User Interface and a lot of exciting features, evident from Google Pixel. It also allows multi-tasking capability as well as improved notifications.
The Android 7.0 Nougat update for Samsung is still in the development stage. Samsung J-series users just have to keep their fingers cross.
Recently we came acroos news about new updates. Samsung has started pushing out new updates to the 2016 editions of its Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 smartphones. Currently rolling out in Europe, the updates bring Android security patches - October patch for the Galaxy J5 (2016) and September patch for the Galaxy J7 (2016).
However, there is nothing to worry about if your device will get the new version of Android because there isn't an official Marshmallow firmware for Note 3.
