With the start of the NBA season, the latest trade rumors hinted that a deal between the New York Knicks and the Sacramento Kings might be on the cards. Reports claimed that the Knicks might try to bring in Kings' small forward Rudy Gay in exchange for their power forward Kristaps Porzingis.

Rumors about the possible Porzingis trade surfaced recently due to his average performance in the current NBA season. ChattSportsNet reported that the New York Knicks' head coach Jeff Hornacek is not happy with the 21-year-old's game and also benched him in a recent match against Detroit Pistons for him laid-back gameplay. It is stated that Hornacek might also voice his opinion to the Knicks's management to replace him with another talented player.

According to the reports, adding Gay to the roster will help the New York Knicks with excellent defensive and offensive skills, which will help them to enhance their gameplay and thus, develop their ranking in the NBA league. Also, it is stated that with Gay onboard, the Knicks might be able to provide their small forward Carmelo Anthony with a chance to rest and gear up for the NBA playoffs.

To add on to that, few reports suggested that even Gay is keen on joining another team before the trade deadline. The main reason behind this is touted to be his issues with the Sacramento Kings' management over their inability to direct the players, roster moves, draft picks, and trades. It is stated that if the Kings' fail to trade Gay before the deadline, he will himself exercise his option of becoming a free agent in the upcoming NBA season.

On the other hand, should the trade take place, it is reported that even the Sacramento Kings will benefit from it because Porzingis will provide the team with excellent defensive skills. Besides, the NBA trade rumors hinted that the Porzingis and DeMarcus Cousins duo will provide the team with versatility and exceptional offensive gameplay, which will help them to put up high scores on the board in the NBA season.

However, nothing has been officially confirmed as of now. Stay tuned in here for more updates and NBA trade rumors on the New York Knicks and the Sacramento Kings.
