Im YoonA and Ji Chang Wook's bodyguard action drama "The K2" continues to capture many viewers' interest with its exciting storyline and suspense scenes. The tvN drama recently registered its highest TV viewership ratings since it premiered in late Septembe, and both the lead actors plan to fulfill their promise to the fans who helped them achieve the ratings.
To recall, "The K2" episode 5 reached a peak viewership share of 7.6 percent, according to Nielsen Korea, as cited by Korea Herald. Aired on Oct. 7, Friday, the said episode featured YoonA and Ji's cute ramen scene including an action-packed fight sequence that involved sprinklers and an umbrella.
Moreover, just recently, "The K2" episode 14 which was aired last week November 5 showing the heart-wrenching scene between Anna, portrayed by YoonA, and Choi Yoo Jin, played by actress Song Yun Ah, was noted to earned the highest rating yet in all of the scenes in the drama series.
According to AGB Nielsen Ratings for cable, the minute the scene was aired, the ratings spiked to 5.9 percent. This alone gave a boost to the viewers' ratings of "The K2" Episode 14 as it reached 5.4 percent according to TNmS ratings, which helped them maintained its spot as the top weekend drama series.
In addition, On November 9, tvN released an official statement that announced plans for Girls' Generation's Im YoonA and Ji Chang Wook to fulfill their ratings promise. The two had previously made a promise to personally buy coffee for viewers if the drama "The K2" reached up to five percent in viewership ratings.
"They plan to give out coffee to 100 viewers in Gangnam on Friday, November 11, 4 p.m. KST," tvN announced.
Im YoonA and Ji Chang Wook's "The K2" will air its last two episodes this Friday, November 11 and Friday, November 12 on tvN.
