The Mac Mini has not received any updates for a long period of time. In fact, Apple has not provided any information at all, leading many to feel that these could be taken as early signs of abandoning the iconic product line up. Now, most Apple fans hope to see some refresh to the product in the possible March event.
Many including Mac World believe that the delay behind the updates to the iconic product is because of the Kaby Lake processors from Intel. Perhaps Apple is waiting for the release of the Kaby Lake processors to upgrade some of its products which may include the upcoming Mac minis as well. The Intel processors definitely are a significant boost to computing power compared to Haswell processors of the current Mac Minis. If the Mac Minis are slated for next year, there is a huge probability of seeing the Kaby Lake processors under the hood of the upcoming devices.
The design of the Mac mini also has a good possibility of undergoing changes, although they could be of a minor nature. A thinner design in very much possible.
There could certainly be upgrades as far as RAM capacity is concerned. Many feel there could be little or no changes to the current integrated graphics , as the current models are doing exceptionally well.
Another popular demand in the upcoming models is for the more flash drive options. This could significantly boost the upcoming Mini hardware as per Tech Radar. USB-C port could also make a cut to the new Mac mini as the same is getting more popular in current Apple products. So is the case with Thunderbolt 3.
Like Many Apple Fans, we too hope to see some innovating refresh to the Mac Mini product line-up early next year. Stay tuned in here for more updates and rumors about the new Mac Mini.
