Ubisoft's upcoming hack and slash video game "For Honor" was said to be well received by those who have participated in its beta testing.

According to SegmentNext, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said that "For Honor" received an overwhelming response from players during its recently concluded closed beta testings. This was confirmed during the French publisher's quarterly investor meeting.

"'For Honor' continues to excite players across the globe,' Guillemot proudly declared. "After the global success of its closed alpha, the biggest in Ubisoft history, 'For Honor' just concluded two more successful live testings in Russia and Japan."

The Ubisoft boss also said that the feedback from closed beta players is "massively positive," and the company has seen a surge in registration for the upcoming beta.

The upcoming game, which will feature a clash between Vikings, Knights and Samurai, features an impressive looking multiplayer gameplay, which has drawn a lot of attention from gamers and critics alike.

In an interview with Gamespot last September, "For Honor" creative director Jason VandenBerghe said that fans should expect a lot of great things from the single-player campaign as well.

"It's a full story campaign, a cinematic adventure where you will play as the knights first as the Warden, then you play as the Raider, then you play as the Orochi..." VandenBerghe said. "You'll play all through three different regions; the knights' homeland, the viking homeland, and the samurai homeland. You'll go on this great adventure..."

"We built the campaign so that if you bought the game just for that, that you would be satisfied even if you never went online and played multiplayer. It's intended to be a full experience," the director added.

"For Honor" will be launched on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on Valentines Day next year. Interested players can sign up for beta here.
