It's an exciting week for gamers, as incredibly popular hits are up for premieres. Diablo III, considered by many as the most iconic role-playing game (RPG) franchise of all times, is coming after more than a decade from the previous iteration. Max Payne 3 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 is the third release in the wildly popular Third-Person Shooter series Max Payne developed by Rockstar Games. Game of Thrones, based on the incredibly popular book and HBO TV series, will also release this week on multiple platforms.

Diablo III

Diablo III is a fantasy Action RPG, and the third major iteration in the most iconic RPG franchise of all time. The new release will continue the land of Sanctuary's battle in a vicious rampage against a reoccurring demonic evil. Players across the world can create the ultimate hero and play either on their own, or quest it with friends online. Game features include classic dungeon crawling gameplay, five character classes, multiplayer and single player support, an overhauled quest system, online item auctioning, and a random encounter generator. Diablo III is compatible with Windows and Mac operating systems, and will premiere at retail this week as a downloadable title in North America and Europe.

Max Payne 3

Max Payne 3 is the third major installment to the wildly popular series that first debuted more than a decade ago - in 2001 - for PC. Now available for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, the third game installment is the first of the series to appear on Next Generation gaming consoles. Developed by Rockstar Games, the mastermind behind top hits GTA, Red Dead and Midnight Club game franchises, Max Payne 3 comes as a sequel to the second game of the franchise. The new game features an older Max Payne, with a new life and a job abroad, working as a private guard to a wealthy industrialist and his family in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Game features include a single-player campaign, a huge multiplayer component - the first multiplayer functionality in the series, and two arcade modes. Other cool features include an arsenal of weapons, classic Max Payne Bullet Time and Shootdodge functionality, and special bonus features.

Game of Thrones

Lastly, Game of Thrones is a highly-anticipated RPG based on the wildly popular "A Song of Ice and Fire" series of books by George R. Martin, and developed by Cyanide, using the Unreal Engine 3 technology. Players will be able to explore the streets of King's Landing and the series' location, and interact with characters integral to the series. The player will witness how the game world evolves based on their actions or lack of action, while learning about the people and history that defines them. Game of Thrones will be compatible with Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
