The emerging smartphone market in the budget and mid-range has led manufactures to launch power-packed devices like the Moto G4 Plus and the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime. Here is a quick comparison of both models to help you choose your next handheld device.
The Moto G4 Plus and the Galaxy J7 Prime fare well in display and resolution, with both sporting a 5.5-inch display with 1,080 x 1,920 pixels (401 ppi pixel density).
The Moto G4 Plus is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor with Octa-core ARM Cortex-A53 chipset having 64-bit architecture. This processor is clustered with two set of quad cores which makes it a octa core processor. One set of cluster works with a maximum speed of CPU 1.5 GHz. Another cluster works with clock pulse 1.2 GHz. The processor switches over between these clusters according to phone use and it is very helpful for better performance and battery optimization at its best level.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy J7 Prime is powered by Exynos 7870 processor having Octa-core ARM Cortex-A53 chipset built on 64-bit architecture with clock speed of 1.6Ghz. Exynos 7870 is the processor which is manufactured by 14 nm process. The best part of the processor is it reduce power consumption upto 30% than other 28 nm processor consumes.
Both the Moto G4 Plus and The Galaxy J7 Prime run on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
The Moto G4 Plus comes with 32GB internal storage (expandable up to 128GB via microSD card) and a 3GB RAM, while the Galaxy J7 Prime has 16GB internal memory (expandable up to 256GB via microSD card) and 3GB RAM.
The Galaxy J7 Prime has an all-metal body, while Moto G4 Plus has a metal frame. The Moto G4 Plus comes with a fingerprint sensor at the bottom in the front side.
The Moto G4 Plus completely outscores the J7 Prime in camera with a 16MP shooter with OmniVision Pure Cel Plus sensor, PDAF (Phase Detection Auto Focus) and dual-LED flash, and a 5MP selfie camera. It supports dual ISP for better performance.
On the other hand, the Galaxy J7 Prime mounts a 13MP main camera with f/1.9 aperture, 28mm, autofocus and LED flash, and an 8MP front-snapper with a f/1.9 aperture which is better than the J7 (2016).
The Galaxy J7 Prime has a better battery life than the Moto G4 Plus. Still, the Moto phone comes with Turbo charging.
Both the devices almost score evenly in terms of specs. While the Moto G4 Plus takes away the title of camera features and quick-battery charging technology, the Galaxy J7 Prime scores more in design and battery.
