Samsung and AT&T on Monday showcased Samsung Focus 2 - the first Windows phone with support for 4G LTE networks from the Korean stable. Samsung Focus 2 is not a high-end smartphone like Samsung Focus S or Nokia Lumia 900, but it is close to give a feel of one with a slick design and high data speeds on AT&T's LTE network.

Samsung Focus 2 features 4-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 480 X 800 pixels and runs Windows Phone OS 7.5 "Mango". At 11mm thickness, Focus 2 isn't super-slim, but with tapered edges and sharp display, it feels really comfortable in hand. However, when compared with Lumia 900, it is a tiny little device or Lumia 900 is too big (depends on your requirements). Samsung Focus 2 features 1.5 GHz Scorpion processor and 512 MB of RAM. It has 8GB of internal storage, which might be too low for regular smartphone users. Also there is no memory card slot in the device.

Focus 2 is the first Windows 4G LTE smartphone. AT&T takes the credit with its third 4G LTE smartphone entry. Other connectivity features include Bluetooth v2.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, microUSB v2.0 and assisted GPS. Samsung Focus 2 sports 5-megapixel camera with LED flash support. It can shoot decent quality pictures with a maximum resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels and records 720p HD videos at 30fps. There is also a secondary VGA camera in the device. Focus 2 packs standard 1,750 mAh Li-Ion battery.

"AT&T offers our customers the broadest Windows Phone portfolio of any carrier, with three 4G LTE Windows Phones - the only 4G LTE Windows Phones in the U.S. - now at a variety of price points and form factors," said Jeff Bradley, senior vice president AT&T Mobility. "The Samsung Focus 2 brings the people-first Windows Phone interface together with AT&T's fast 4G LTE network for an unbeatable experience."

Undoubtedly Lumia 900 is a high-end smartphone and we cannot compare Samsung Focus 2 with it. Samsung Focus 2 is targeted at entry-level user with a price tag of $50 on 2-year contract. It will hit AT&T's shelves on May 20.
