"Better Call Saul" season 3 showrunners and creators Peter Gould and Vince Gilligan, including actor Bob Odenkirk, who is playing Saul Goodman, have recently hinted possible spoilers for certain characters who are joining the next season.
Because "Better Call Saul" is a prequel to "Breaking Bad," some characters from the original series have already appeared in the show. Odenkirk hinted that in the next season, fans may see their favorite villain, Gustavo Fring (Gaincarlo Esposito).
During the actor's appearance on "Conan," he explained that the season 2 writing staff put clues in the episodes title for the next season.
Fans decoded and assume that it was Gus Fring who left a note for Mike (Jonathan Banks) on the windshield in the last season's finale episode. Moreover, some fans found that an anagram of the first word of each of the season's episode titles spells "Frings Back."
"We had this-to us-this very bright idea of encoding the words "Fring's Back" in the episode titles. We worked very hard; more than that, the folks in our office, Jenn Carroll and Ariel Levine, worked very, very hard trying to help us figure that out," Peter Gould said. "And we thought we'd be revealing it maybe sometime over the summer. I guess we really underestimated the genius and hard work of our fans."
Moreover, Vince Gilligan said that Fring is very essential in Jimmy McGill's transformation to Saul Goodman on "Better Call Saul" season 3. However, seemed like Gus Fring won't be joining soon yet.
"Having said all of that, that doesn't mean people should assume Fring put that thing on the windshield with his own hand," Gilligan added.
"As we know from "Breaking Bad, Gus Fring is a man of great resources and is very much a long-term planner and he has some very skilled and cold-blooded folks working for him. It could have been through Gus Fring's agency but not him personally," he further said.
AMC has yet to announce the official return of Gus Fring and the premiere of "Better Call Saul" season 3 will premiere. It is speculated to be released in February, similar to that of season 1 and 2.
