Fans of "Rick and Morty" have been impatient all throughout the hiatus of the popular animated science fiction comedy series; but good things seem to come to those who wait as episodes for season 3 is almost complete.

According to the two female writers of the show, the "Rick and Morty season 3" is almost finished.

Sarah Carbiener and Erica Rosbe, who were recently interviewed on Chick Who Script Podcast, talked about the upcoming season 3 of "Rick and Morty."

"We ended four weeks ago, I think," Rosbe said, but was unsure how much longer the episodes would be with Bardel Entertainment in Vancouver.

At the time of recording on September 28, the writing team was revealed to be done with the new episodes and were waiting on their return from the Canadian animation studio for in-house screenings.

"I think they're done soon, they're done really soon. I think in a week or two they're going to have screenings in the production office," Carbiener said.

The writers also shared the process of the creative team of "Rick and Morty," claiming that not only was there intensive writing, but also intensive science fiction viewing necessary.

"You learn so much on that show, because they fit 20 pounds of story in a five pound bag. On other shows what would be an entire episode will be the first two or three minutes," Carbiener revealed. "So you have to learn how to come up with a lot of story, fast, and how to make it all turn and tie up right."

According to reports, fans may expect major plot twists as more characters are supposed to join in the third season.

Rumors are rife that the animated science fiction series will be having a crossover with "Justice League."

This news started when Rick and Morty was seen playing in one of the screens in the room of Barry Allen in the first trailer for the "Justice League" movie.

However, the details are reportedly said to be still in negotiations between the two camps especially that the script for the new episodes of season 3 are already done.

"Rick and Morty season 3" is reportedly set to premiere on December, 2016.
