Mac Mini has not received any updates for over a year. Apple has not provided any information on the product and many suspect that the product line could be discontinued. However, it seems that the updated Mac mini could be unveiled early next year. There is only a slight chance that the new Mac mini could be launched in the rumored event later this month.

The main reason behind the same seems to be Intel's Kaby Lake processors as per Mac World. As Intel Kaby Lake processors are most likely to appear by early next year, many feel that Mac Mini, if launched now, could be limited to Sky lake processors. Although this would still be a significant boost over the current processors of Mac mini, the Haswell processors many feel that Kaby Lake processor could give much higher power boost and could look great with updated features of new Mac mini. Hence, it is logical to assume that the update to Mac mini largely depends on the release of the Kaby Lake processors.

As the design of mini Mac has not undergone many changes, we suspect a change could be there although a major overhaul is unlikely. A thinner design seems to be very much in the cards.

When it comes to integrated graphics, we do not expect much changes as the current Mac mini models already have the feature. According to News Maritime, the feature is doing just great. There is a huge possibility that the upcoming Mac mini could have upgraded RAM capacity, at least in the case of the entry-level model.

There are popular demands of seeing more flash drive options in the new Mac mini models. As USB-C is getting more popularity in current Apple products, we do see a possibility of Cupertino giant using the USB-C port as combined power and data port. This could help in having a thinner laptop design.

Stay tuned for more updates and rumors about the new Mac mini.
