Morton Koopa Jr. makes his appearance in the new "Super Mario" title "Paper Mario: Color Splash" as the game's first boss. Here are a few tips on how to smash this Koopaling in the game.

Where is Morton? Opening The Crimson Tower

Morton can be found in The Crimson Tower, the final level in Chapter 1. To get into the tower, you must find all three Chosen Toads to open the gate. Here are their locations:

Red Toad - Talk to the Toad that lost his clothes in Cherry Lake

Yellow Toad - This Toad is the Daffodil Peak's gatekeeper. After discovering that the Mountain Sage was nothing more than a paper cutout, talk to the Toad and splash some paint on his head.

Blue Toad - Return to Bloo Bay Beach to find the shipwrecked Blue Toad. Enter Cutout and help this Toad get back to shore using the Fan Thing you obtained in Cherry Lake.

Once the tower is open, go through the dungeon until you see Morton up the stairs. Use Cutout and follow him until you reach Morton's lair.

Morton Boss Fight: Red Shy Guys

Morton will hop on a pedestal and hide in his shell, while leaving two Red Shy Guys to battle you instead. Take out the Red Shy Guys first, and avoid jumping on Morton's spiky shell. Once the Red Shy Guys are taken care of, hit the pedestal to destroy it and send Morton back on the ground.

Morton may summon a new pedestal and a new batch of Red Shy Guys once you've destroyed the first one so make sure you time your attacks carefully.

Morton Boss Fight: Fire Hammer

After taking enough damage, Morton will turn his hammer into a fire hammer, which can deal significant damage to you. Destroy his hammer by taking out your Fire Extinguisher Thing card, and once you've reduced the imposing weapon to a mere burnt stick, attack Morton until he is no more.
