The success of "Iron Man" with Robert Downey Jr. playing the role of Tony Stark made fans more excited about its fourth installment.
There are rumors that there will be an "Iron Man 4" after the appearance of Robert Downey in the "Spider-Man Homecoming." However, Marvel has not yet confirmed or released any official statement about it.
Speculations now suggest that "Iron man 4" might hit the big screen later than expected. Marvel Studio has already made a lineup of movies with the release of their Phase 3 timeline; however, "Iron Man 4" was not on the list. Since there were untitled movies that are expected to come out in 2020, rumors say that the most awaited movie is one of them.
"Finally, three untitled Marvel Studios films will premiere on May 1, 2020, July 10, 2020, and November 6, 2020."
Moreover, it has been rumored that Robert Downey might not reprise his role in the "Iron Man 4" as he might take on the role as the next James Bond. The 51-year old actor is yet to verify this recent speculation.
However, RDJ shared a photo on his Instagram showing him sitting at a table together with Tom Holland, Kevin Feige, Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Jon Favreau, and celebrity chef Roy Choi, which gives fans a glimpse of hope.
"New project @jonfavreau and @ridingshotgunla are working on! (Photo cred:@jimmy_rich, glam cred: @davynewkirk)," said RDJ on his photo.
Previously, it has been reported that Downey will be replaced by a new female character named Riri Williams who was described as "a science genius who enrolls in MIT at the age of 15. She comes to the attention of Tony when she builds her own Iron Man suit in her dorm."
As one of the highest-paid actor in the business for three consecutive years, it is not already a surprise why Marvel would find it hard to keep Downey on their payroll.
There is no official release date yet for "Iron Man 4" and Marvel has yet to clear updates on the said movie.
