Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are one of the famous couples in Hollywood, but the world was shocked as the "Tomb Raider" star filed for divorce from her husband of two years just weeks after celebrating their wedding anniversary.

Fans are now wondering if the couple's split has come because of actress Marion Cotillard or Jennifer Anniston.

According to CNN, Jolie filed for divorce on Monday, and in her filing, the actress asked the court to give her sole physical custody of their six children, with visitation rights for Pitt, who would retain joint legal custody. However, she is not asking for spousal support.

"This decision was made for the health of the family," Robert Offer, a lawyer for Jolie, said in the statement. "She will not be commenting, and asks that the family be given its privacy at this time."

Some reports suggested that Pitt's "Allied" co-star, Marion Cotillard, might be the reason of Brangelina's break up as the two were previously rumored having both on-screen and off chemistry.

Previously, it was rumored that the "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" couple had been in "crisis talks" at their home in France due to the actor's close relationship with the French actress.

"She feels that if they really pour their hearts out to each other over sunset walks through the [estate's] vineyards, she can keep [Brad Pitt] by her side and reignite their romance," a source told Life & Style magazine, according to a report by Gossip Cop.

"Her intense jealousy over [Brad Pitt's] Allied co-star Marion Cotillard, and what he sees as her stubborn refusal to take care of herself after so many health scares," are among the couple's problems, the source continued.

Moreover, the divorce has brought attention to Pitt's ex Jennifer Aniston, and it was reported that it has also brought "karma" reactions from social media users.

"On Twitter, the #Brangelina hashtag is the top trending item with Aniston garnering nearly 40,000 tweets, even as Brad's first name has gotten 328,000 tweets. However, there are other terms coupled with Jennifer's name - like karma, Brad, Aniston meme and those declaring Aniston "hot" - that are also seeing an upsurge on Facebook and Twitter," according to Inquistr.

In a statement to People magazine, Pitt said: "I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the wellbeing of our kids. I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time."

As of now, Jennifer Aniston and Marion Cotillard have yet to comment on Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's divorce.
