Verizon's much-rumored HTC Incredible 4G quickly appeared on its DroidDoes Web site, before being quickly pulled out and the page now shows an error page. However, Verizon wasn't quick enough - Android watchers managed to grab images, revealing what could be the phone's specs and pricing.
The DroidDoes Web site shows all of Verizon's Droid devices and how they compared. The Incredible 4G was no different: Android Central originally posted the images of the device with specs including a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, a 4-inch qHD Super LCD display, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, HTC Sense 4.0, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of storage.
Other specs were an 8-megapixel camera on the back and a VGA camera on the front. Beats Audio technology will apparently be included. The phone also features three capacitive buttons for back, home and search capabilities.
A similar device, such as the HTC One S, includes a 4.3-inch display and a 1.5GHz dual-core processor. The One S only offers HSPA+, though.
8 GB of storage would be small compared to most upper tier smartphones - the iPhone 4S has a minimum of 16GB and goes up to 64GB, while other Android devices offer expanded storage through microSD cards. Slashgear reported the Incredible 4G will offer expandable storage up to 32GB, but cards have to be purchased separately.
The phone will apparently use LTE, unlike its predecessor the HTC Droid incredible 2. The price will also be $299 on a two-year contract. For reference, the Droid Incredible 2 launched for $199 on Verizon so $100 more could appear a little high for a device that comes with only 8GB of internal storage.
The phone weighs 4.6 ounces, measuring 2.4 by 4.8 by 0.46 inches and includes a 1700mAh battery.
No release date was shown, so it's a case of seeing if Verizon make an announcement. So far, the company hasn't confirmed whether the details are true.
"The information was removed from our site this morning. We have nothing to share at this point," a Verizon spokeswoman, Brenda Raney, said.
