The best protagonist from the "Assassin's Creed" according to fans is making a comeback to current generation consoles. PS4 and Xbox One owners will get to play as the legendary assassin Ezio once more.
Xbox One and PlayStation 4 owners might see Ezio grace modern-day consoles with the recently spotted by NeoGAF member "catmario." There aren't much details as the page isn't translated yet, but it was clear that it is entitled "Assassin's Creed Ezio Collection."
The collection may include the original "Assassin's Creed 2" trilogy, namely "Assassin's Creed 2," "Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood," and "Assassin's Creed: Revelations." The original trilogy was released for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
So far, no "Assassin's Creed" game is scheduled to be released this year with the exception of select standalone DLC expansions and spinoffs. Still, the game will be having a tie-in movie titled "Assassin's Creed," which stars Michael Fassbender. The movie is scheduled for a 2017 release for UK and December 21 2016 in the US.
Discussions from comminity sites including NeoGAF hope for improved gameplay elements that were absent throughout the entire trilogy such as consistent 60 frames per second, a "proper" remaster, and possibly, even in a higer resolution of 4k for future releases.
"Assassin's Creed 2" is well-received that even with the succeeding games in the series, it kept its cult-following and it is the only main "Assassin's Creed" game that had a trilogy and starred the same exact protagonist in the entire story.
Polygon already reached out to Ubisoft for a confirmation regarding the "Assassin's Creed Ezio Collection" bundle and hopefully, we get more details, including a release date for the game.
Stay tuned for more "Assassin's Creed" news and updates.
