PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) Mobile unveils one of the wildest collaborations ever in history—a crossover with Tekken 8 which will run until Oct. 31. It does this by including skins, characters, and weapons centered around Tekken's renowned fighters in PUBG's battle royale environment.

The event is structured with a Prize Path, a tiered, level-based rewards system, which allows the player to unlock items and progress through each by completing objectives. Although PUBG has tied up with some major franchises before, such as Resident Evil, Godzilla, and The Walking Dead, Tekken is its debut in this dynamic crossover series of PUBG, with the former popular multiplayer on mobile gaining more players through the tie-ups that now become relevant to regional tastes.

With Tekken also being among the most recognizable brands of fighting games worldwide and well-known in South Asia, this crossover will really make for great gaming across the globe.

PUBB Mobile X Tekken 8 Collaboration

Never in our wildest imaginations could we think that PUBG x Tekken crossover would be possible. You can play the game with Mishima clan and other characters. PUBG MOBILE/YouTube

The PUBG Mobile and Tekken 8 collaboration is based on a Prize Path event, through which players unlock exclusive rewards for Tekken by completing missions and earning points in similar ways that most online multiplayer games treat in-game events.

The players will get access to these exclusive items mainly through the Prize Path, but a purchase in UC has to be made first. It is the in-game currency in PUBG Mobile. Then, after the Prize Path is unlocked, points can be earned through specific missions and redeemed for many different rewards.

Only Three Characters From Tekken For Now

The points earned then help players move through levels and win rewards associated with Tekken's legendary characters such as Jin Kazama, Kazuya Mishima, and Nina Williams. Although the event is accessible worldwide, the primary target audience of the collaboration remains in the South Asian region where these three characters are arguably immensely synonymous with the fighting game franchise itself, hence, allowing PUBG Mobile to get the best traction out of it.

Unlocking Tekken-Themed Rewards in PUBG Mobile

Level-Based Reward System

The Tekken 8 Prize Path in PUBG Mobile is a 20-level progression event that rewards players with exclusive rewards as they complete missions and earn Prize Path Points. Here's the prize structure in detail:

Level 1: PP-19 Bizon Gun Skin inspired by Jin Kazama
Levels 2-3: Collaboration space gifts and themed Graffiti.
Level 4-6: Single-draw vouchers for Tekken 8 crates. This time, more themed rewards are waiting for the player.
Level 10: Rewards crate with emote selection that is exclusive for the Tekken collaboration
Level 15: Modification of material piece
Level 20: Rewards choice of a full character skin set- Jin Kazama, Kazuya Mishima, or Nina Williams.

Players who wouldn't like to wait will buy points and go through 20 levels faster by a certain UC (game currency).

Special Emotes and Exclusive Character Skin

According to GameRant, there are two principal kinds of Tekken-themed emotes available in this event: the Collaboration Entry Emote and the Victory Results Emote. Both stand for signature moves for their respective Tekken 8 character itself.

For instance, Kazuya's emote focuses on a crossed-arms pose, and Jin's calm and ready pose. The other two metaphoric ways the characters are at Tekken 8 post a round win.

This is certainly not the first crossover event PUBG Mobile gamers will be experiencing. What they are experiencing for the very first time, however, is winning a chicken dinner with Jin Kazama on the maps of PUBG. It is not just likely to increase game sales; Tekken's most memorable character skins and the specific emotes are bound to be stand-out features for PUBG players and will build sustained appeal far into the future.
