Samsung has officially announced that it is releasing the "next Galaxy" device. The release is scheduled for May 3 this year. The device is no other than the third generation Galaxy smartphone or Galaxy S3. Samsung is making a move towards topping the Tegra giants from HTC and everybody expect the coming gem to come loaded with spectacular features and enhancements.
Samsung has already started sending invites for the launch of the next Galaxy smartphone, which will be officially available for purchase from May 3.
Samsung has so far been tight-lipped on the details of the next Galaxy device as it is peddling invites simply labelled, "Come and meet the next Galaxy." The company intended to unveil Samsung Galaxy S3 earlier this year, and, according to the Android watchers, the device was set to be launched at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Samsung, however, decided to shift the release to a later date. It would be interesting to consider what Samsung has up its sleeves in the prospects of topping the Tegra 3 powerhouses of HTC, which have been launched under One series.
London will play host to the Galaxy S3 launch. The mobile technology spheres are awash with speculation on what the next Galaxy will feature. The other question is on whether Samsung will launch a totally novel Galaxy ensemble or if it will present yet another Galaxy tablet. Sumsung has not given out nay information on those aspects obviously seeking to cash in on the curiosity of its growing Galaxy devices market in its launch event build up.
The dispatched launch invites include some paint drops graphics which could be suggesting that just like the Samsung Galaxy Note, the new device may come with a huge display and integrated stylus to satiate the Galaxy users' penchant to doodle on the phone. Other cues could be the brushed metal effect featured in the blue blotch. This element could be suggesting that the Galaxy S3 could leave out the plastic and go for an iPhone-style metal case.
If the phone comes with the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich then the phone will feature Face Unlock, Android Beam and NFC, as well as an update version of Samsung's Touchwiz UI.
Some rumors within the mobile tech circles are speculating about a quad-core CPU as well as 23GB internal storage in the new model. There is also talk about support for 4G connectivity, as well as an upgraded rear camera. If all the murmurs are anything to go by, Android lovers can hold their breath in anticipation of the big surprise whose launch is mere weeks away.
