Although Toyota patrons cannot expect any changes in the look of the Toyota Sienna minivan for 2017, they can definitely look forward to some changes both internal and external.
The 3.5 liter V-6 engine will be getting direct injection and 30 more horsepower along with a new eight-speed automatic transmission, which replaces the six-speed on all models, reported USA Today.
However, this will also increase the price to $900 for all models. Additionally, the destination fee will also be increased by $40, and the total fee would be $940. The models will be released to showrooms this month.
Notably, Toyota's minivans come with a variety of choices, including choices for seven to eight passenger seats and front or all wheel drive. However, the loud, gruff V-6 engine along with performance has made the Toyota minivan an unpleasant choice for its users.
However, the addition of an eight-speed automatic transmission might make the engine more refined, along with better performance and improved fuel economy.
The 2016 EPA estimates 18 miles per hour in the city, 25 mpg on the highway and 25 mpg in both the tracks combined. The 2017 EPA is yet to be revealed, but it is expected to be better than this year.
Moreover, the roomy interior of the Toyota Sienna includes a spacious second row and ample cargo space (approximately 87.1 cubic feet with folded second and third rows).
In addition, the van also has a unique design among other minivans of the all-wheel drive, thus making it a good choice for the Snow Belt.
It seems that the Toyota Sienna is all set to return with a more revamped and fluid design. However, the cost factor might ward off some of the Toyota users.
