Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard Nick Young might be traded to Denver Nuggets before the start of the training camps for the new season, according to the latest NBA trade rumors. Reports claimed that the main reason behind the possible trade is that the Lakers want to improve their roster and thus provide tough competition to other teams in the western league like the Golden State Warriors and the OKC Thunder.

Centrino Times reported that the Lakers will probably enter into a deal with Denver Nuggets to trade Young in exchange for their power forward Kenneth Faried. Reports claimed that having Nuggets' Kenneth Faired on board is expected to further strengthen the Lakers front court to compete against other top players like Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook.

Furthermore, other than improving the roster another reason for the possible Young trade is owing to his off-court scuffle with point guard D'Angelo Russell. It is stated that the Lakers want to focus more on teamwork in the upcoming NBA season and the tiff between the two players is expected to affect team's overall performance.

Sports Rageous stated that trading Russell is not in the Laker's option as he is a more valuable asset to the team as will help the team to have a strong presence in the Western Conference. As a result, Young getting shipped off to Denver Nuggets stands as a high possibility for the moment.

The NBA trade rumors also hinted that even though the 31-year-old player has two more years on his contract with the Lakers', his trade will come as a no surprise, as he delivered poor performance last season, which has irked the team's officials.

Meanwhile, a few reports stated that the Lakers might also opt to trade their power forward Julius Randle to Nuggets in exchange for their shooting guard Gary Harris. It is stated that both Young and Randle will be able to further enhance their skills with the Nuggets with teammates like Jamal Murray and Mike Miller in the upcoming NBA season.
