Will the Philadelphia 76ers trade their center Jahlil Okafor to the Los Angeles Lakers? According to the latest NBA trade rumors, the possibility is growing strong each day as the 76ers are planning to rebuild their team and trading Okafor will be in their benefit.
Sports Rageous reported that the probable Lakers player to be involved in the deal with 76ers is their point guard Jordan Clarkson. The Philadelphia 76ers are reportedly looking forward to having Clarkson on their side as adding him will further improve the team's roster, including Ben Simmons, Joel Embiid, and Nerlens Noel.
Having Clarkson will help the 76ers to develop their gameplay in the backcourt and thus have a more balanced roster. On the other hand, even though the trade rumors hinted at a possible deal between the Lakers and the 76ers, it is speculated that Clarkson's trade will not make that much sense for the Lakers as the 24-year-old player is stated to be a valuable backcourt asset.
However, few reports claimed that trading Clarkson and bringing in Jahlil Okafor will enable the Los Angeles team to develop the younger talent and rebuild their team for the future seasons.
Meanwhile, reports stated that Clarkson recently re-signed a four-year $50 million deal with the Los Angeles Lakers in July. There are rumors that the point guard is more than happy to be with the Lakers and is looking forward to bring laurels to the team in the upcoming NBA season.
"It felt really good just to get it done early so I could get back to my offseason workouts and start preparing with my team for the upcoming season," stated Clarkson, as reported by Australia Network News. "That was probably the best part about it. At the same time, staying in LA and bringing this franchise back to what it was is important to me. A big focus for me is expanding my game and being able to go off-the-dribble more."
