Samsung and Apple have always been each other's biggest competitor, and as they come out with the Gear S3 and the Watch 2, respectively, the competition is expected to be more exciting.

What could be the enhancements that these smartwatches from the tech giants would boast of?

With the two devices being rumored to be released in September, several tech sites have hinted that consumers may find it hard to decide which between them they should opt for.

It can be surmised that the Samsung Gear S3 vs Apple Watch 2 scenario will be focused on the specs that will make each stand out of the competition.

Based on the result of the survey conducted by NextWorth, around 50 percent of the current Apple Watch users have already expressed interest to purchase the second generation gadget, while the Wristly study revealed that 94 percent of Apple Watch users are satisfied, Value Walk reported.

Let us now look into the anticipated specs and features of these two devices from Samsung and Apple.

The report noted that the Samsung Gear S3 will have an altimeter, barometer, and speedometer as its prime features, while the Apple Watch 2 is expected to adopt a One Glass Solution (OGS) display rather than the glass-on-glass technology. As such, the new Apple gadget is said to be thinner and lighter.

Meanwhile, Country Caller reported that the upcoming third generation wearable from the South Korea-based tech company will have multiple sensors, making it a competitive option for those who have an active lifestyle.

Recognizing Samsung's belief that it cannot compete with Apple head on, the news site stated that it will instead target the "fitness enthusiasts."

On the other hand, the one from the US-based tech producer, which is also known as WatchOS 3, has put emphasis on its much improved operating system which is capable of a faster speed and more developed functionality.

Given these limited anticipated specs, it is still too early to tell which would win between the Samsung Gear S3 and the Apple Watch 2.
