The upcoming affordable wearable the Fitbit Flex 2 will carry a price tag that is lower than $100, recent rumors have suggested.

Accordingly, the fitness gadget will be offered for only US$99.95 (£79.99, AU$129.95) and its release date has reportedly been set during the IFA 2016 in Berlin, Germany in September.

The company is expected to unveil some new products at the said consumer event.

Since this will already be the second generation of the Fitbit brand wearable device, what enhancements would it possibly brag about?

The newest Fitbit Flex 2 rumors from Tech Radar have hinted about several features that it will come with.

Tracker

While some might have already been expecting a Fitbit tracker that is capable of taking into account one's heart rate and GPS, this reportedly appeared ambitious. Considering its anticipated price, it is just too affordable to incorporate the said features. Therefore, consumers who will own it will have to settle with a tracker that records steps and sleep.

Paying Via App

The report dished that in May this year, Fitbit bought Coin, a mobile payment company, that will reportedly form part of the upcoming device. It was noted, though, that such feature may not be available yet for Fitbit Flex 2.

Accordingly, the Coin app will not be offered by Fitbit in any of its devices this year. This means that if consumers would like to enjoy paying for purchases made, they have to wait for another new Fitbit device in 2017.

In the meantime, Wareable reported that the company is currently testing two new wearable devices that are expected to be launched at the IFA 2016.

Bearing the codenames Laryon and Fermion, the tech site pointed out that these could actually be the Fitbit Flex 2 and Fitbit Change 2, the new fitness tracking devices that are set to be announced at the IFA 2016.
