The Finnish game developer Rovio Entertainment Oy is in a rap-session with Chinese companies like Baidu, Sina and Sohu, to expand its business in the world's largest Web market.

Senior Vice President of Rovio Asia - Henri Holm said that the company is in talks with Baidu, Renren and Sohu, while the work is in-progress with Sina, Tencent, Youku and Qihoo 360.

Sales of Rovio's Angry Birds mobile-games are incredibly high in China. As per the figures at Rovio, its Angry Birds mobile-game lineup has been downloaded on more than 100 million devices in China alone. These 100 million devices include iPhones, iPads and Android smartphones and tablets.

The biggest source of revenue to Rovio is through advertisements that appear on the screen while playing any version of Angry Birds game. Also, to get an ad-free version, users have to spend a few bucks for in-house purchase on respective app store.

In Feb. 2012, Rovio released Angry Birds on Facebook. But in China, the two most popular social networking sites - Facebook and Twitter - are banned. However, realizing the power and demand for social networking, China has adopted its own alternatives like Sina Weibo - a micro-blogging site like Twitter with a mixed flavor of Facebook. It is believed that Angry Birds is coming to Chinese social networking Web sites.

Other than Sina Weibo, Tencent and Renren control most of the social networking world in China. While Baidu is the top ranked search engine in China. Sohu is also a Chinese search engine which is less popular than Baidu, but its online gaming subsidiary Changyou is widely renowned. The idea of playing angry Birds in Web browser is based on HTML5 technology. At the time only 10% of Internet users in China have access to it, but it is spreading like a wildfire.

Chinese top Internet companies like Baidu and Tencent are also expanding their services from business orientation to personal home users. Hence, it's no surprise that Rovio top bosses are in China on a field trip.
