In the latest NBA trade rumors, the Sacramento Kings might send their small forward Rudy Gay to the Atlanta Hawks. Reports claimed that the Hawks team are eyeing talented players in order to rebuild their roster after Al Horford's departure.
Fan Sided reported that the Atlanta Hawks are planning to bring in King's 29-year-old player to improve their frontcourt. The team might also ask for the Sacramento Kings' shooting guard Ben McLemore and center Kosta Koufos along with Rudy Gay.
In return, it is rumored that the Hawks will offer their power forward Tiago Splitter, shooting guard Thabo Sefolosha, and forward Mike Muscala in exchange for Gay and McLemore.
To add to the rumors, Sports Rageous reported that Gay is unhappy with the Sacramento Kings front office division and wants to be traded before the start of the upcoming NBA season. Even if the Kings decide not to trade Gay this year, there are reports that he might declare himself as a free agent for the 2017-18 NBA season in order to gain stability in his career.
"I feel like I still have a lot of years left," said Gay, as reported by SB Nation. "With stability, look at people like Jamal Crawford. When they have that stability and they know what their worth is for a team and what their job is for a team, how they can work on that and play for that team."
The 29-year-old player also said that the Kings currently lack in proper direction and goals, which has thus prompted him to look out for other team options.
Apart from the Atlanta Hawks, the other teams reportedly are interested in trading Rudy Gay are the Oklahoma City Thunder, Brooklyn Nets, Indiana Pacers, and Chicago Bulls.
