In a bid to take role playing to the next level, Bethesda Softworks has added over 200 voice commands to its repertoire of Skyrim gaming experience via the Kinect Controller. The milestone update is for the Bethesda Softworks' famous video game Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Skyrim, which has topped charts as the second highest profitable game of 2011, will be taking players on an epic thrust in form of a warrior "born with blood and soul" features like that of a dragon. The report published on CNN details that the Kinect feature for Skyrim will be available in five languages which are English, Italian, German, Spanish and French. The English model will hit the market in the week of April 23rd while the release of other versions will follow immediately.

The update thrust code-named "Project Adam" has been in the cards ever since the release of the game in November last year. CNN quoted Pete Hines the Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations for Bethesda stating that the game developer wanted to add conventionality that was not included in the initial release of the game.

"When you do things, like when you are on the map, you uncover a lot of map markers and quests to go to a particular place. [With Kineck] you can use voice commands to do things very easily, to jump to different cities on the map," Hines was quoted as saying. The official also added, "Even doing things in inventory like sorting by weight, by value -- that functionality doesn't exist in 'Skyrim' as it is. With Kinect, it unlocks a lot of new options."

According to the Bethesda executive, the update has been implemented as means to enhance gameplay. The Voice commands features have been leveraged on the "Shouts" vocal prowess that players already have access to in Skyrim. Hines also outlined that Skyrim players will have a complete arsenal of Shouts at their disposal thanks to the Kinect functionality. The development means that users do not have to stop and navigate off to a menu and select the tools they want to use and then revert to the game. All the users need to do in new dispensation is to "Shout" out the tool or arsenal and if it is enabled for the player's character, the arsenal will come to effect on the fly.

Nonetheless, the novel functionality does not eliminate all manual tasks. Other important features and functionalities such as Combat and Casting magic still have to be done manually through the Xbox 360 controller.

The upgrade is specifically for the set of simple actions and tasks normally available through menus. These actions will come into effect with simple "Shout" thanks to the Kinect functionality.

The idea to draft-in Kinect into Skyrim was brought up reportedly by one the game's developers after the release of Skyrim last year. Ricky Gonzales came up with the idea to merge voice commands into Skyrim's core arsenal functionalities.
