Samsung is getting a lot of focus these days because of the anticipated launch of its flagship Android smartphone Samsung Galaxy S3. The latest buzz is that Galaxy S3 will feature a physical home button with two capacitive buttons (menu and back) at either side. What else could this Android beast boast of?

According to the latest report by UnderwiredView, which cites an article by the Korean Digital Daily, Galaxy S3 will have a physical home button. Apparently, some executives in Samsung wanted Galaxy S3 to be completely devoid of buttons like Galaxy Nexus, while others wanted a single big home button like on the Galaxy Note. Ultimately, the pro-button camp prevailed before the device went into production.

Besides the physical home button, Galaxy S3 is expected to have a ceramic rado-style design with high quality rear material. It is believed that the device will feature 4.65-inch Super AMOLED Plus display with a resolution of 1280 X 720 pixels. Rumors are also high the Galaxy S3 will sport full HD or SXGA 1280 X 1024 pixel resolution, but that could look like false prediction.

The Samsung device will be a performance beast loaded up with quad-core Exynos processor clocked at 1.2 GHz (or 1.5 GHz), and 2GB RAM. Continuing the snapping legacy of Galaxy S2, the new flagship device could have 12-megapixel rear camera. It is also rumored that it will be the first smartphone camera to cross the barricade of 30fps capture frame rate. Galaxy S3 could shoot 1080p videos at a high frame rate of 60fps.

Samsung Galaxy S3 is expected to run on Android OS v4.x, also called Ice Cream Sandwich, with TouchWiz UI version 5.0. The new device is believed to support 4G LTE networks and give option of Near Field Communication (NFC) chip inclusion.

Galaxy S3 will be more powerful than most of the notebooks in performance comparison and gaming capabilities. Looking at the specs, Galaxy S3 is not a phablet but after the success of Galaxy Note and high possibility of Super AMOLED HD display, the new flagship device can give a feel and look of a phone-tablet combination.

Samsung could release Galaxy S3 sooner than our expectations. According to the leaked documents, Galaxy S3 will debut in London on May 22.
