While the new iPad has been praised for its best-in-class display and new A5X chip, users love to add protection or functionality to the device. Despite the new iPad's connection problems, demand for the device and accessories is as great as ever.
One cool case for the new iPad is the Targus Vuscape Case and Stand. The case includes a stand, a loop for a stylus, water-resistant material that cleans easily and a magnetic sleep/wake feature.
GottaBeMobile lists negatives for the case though, which they reviewed, such as the loop being too small for a thicker stylus and clasps that hold the iPad into place when standing up that are hard to undo.
The case comes in four colors: black, bone/white, charcoal grey, calypso and pink. Inside, the case has a microfiber lining that doesn't scratch the screen of the iPad's body.
The case has openings for all buttons and ports, with the Apple logo visible through the back of the case. The clasps release to allow the iPad to stand up and are firm though, as mentioned, are difficult to undo. "The iPad wobbles a bit at the highest angle. It's better for viewing content than for interacting with the iPad since a tap could knock the screen over," GottaBeMobile said in the review.
While the new iPad has a place to hold a stylus, resting the iPad flat is difficult as the stylus gets in the way. The review also notes the loop is slightly narrow for the company's Targus 3-in-1 Stylus.
The Targus Vuescape Case and Stand costs $44.99 when purchased at retail, while it's available from Amazon for $40.73. Prices vary for other colors.
Among other notable cases for the new iPad is the hand-crafted leather BookBook case for the iPad, which disguises the device as a vintage leather book. It comes in two colors, brown/red and brown/black. The case is available for $69.99.
The Sena Sacola case is also available for $120. The case is unique because it can hold the new iPad with or without the Smart Cover. It has also been called one of the thinnest covers ever designed for a mobile device.
