The latest NBA trade rumors hinted that the Oklahoma City Thunder are planning to trade Russell Westbrook. The possible destination for Westbrook will be the Boston Celtics, however, some reports claimed that he might be moved to the Los Angeles Lakers this season.
According to Bleacher Report's Howard Beck, the Thunder want to trade off Westbrook before his contract ends next year. As per Beck's claims, the Lakers will not be able to lure in Westbrook from OKC Thunder as they are currently not on the top of the possible trade options.
"What I'm hearing in Las Vegas from some GMs, not only are they hearing that Westbrook will get traded, it's that it will be sooner rather than later before this season starts and the most likely destination is the Boston Celtics," said Beck, as reported by Silver Screen and Roll.
Even though the Boston Celtics is reported to have an upper hand in Westbrook's trade, there is still no update on the possible list of players that might be exchanged from the team.
On the other hand, Sports Rageous reported that the Los Angeles Lakers are confident that they will be able to acquire the Thunder point guard next season. Reports claimed that Westbrook's inclusion in the team will help the Lakers to rebuild a strong team as they were not able to sign Kevin Durant this season.
Furthermore, few reports stated that the Los Angeles Lakers are also confident that Westbrook will opt for their team as he will have an advantage of a super team consisting of D'Angelo Russell, Jordan Clarkson, and Nick Young.
The other teams reportedly interested in Russell Westbrook are the Denver Nuggets, Cleveland Cavaliers, Minnesota Timberwolves, New York Knicks, and the Houston Rockets.
