UPDATE: The Los Angeles Lakers have signed British forward Luol Deng with a 4 years deal worth $72m, BBC reported on Friday. Meanwhile, the whisper surrounding Mo Harkless and Nick Young has been widespread.
Sudan-born Deng, 31 years old, averaged 12.3 points from 74 games for Miami Heat last season. The free agent joined Miami Heat in 2014. He played for the Chicago Bulls from 2004 to 2014.
Rumors suggested that the LA Lakers may well be going to enter the 2016-17 season without point guard Nick Young. Bleacher Report said the Lakers will do everything they could to trade Young, they will likely abandon him rather than bring him back if they can't trade him.
Basketball Insiders revealed that the Lakers and several other teams are considering Maurice Harkless. He had not signed yet since the start of free agency.

After losing Kevin Durant to the Golden State Warriors, the Boston Celtics are reportedly looking for a perfect teammate for their latest addition, Al Horford. Reports claimed that they have not given up hopes of acquiring good players this season, one of which is Philadelphia 76ers' Jahlil Okafor.
NESN reported that the Boston Celtics are currently holding offers and will finalize a trade for Okaforif the other team lowers their rates. Reports stated that Celtics will team up Horford and Jahlil in the upcoming basketball season. It is being rumored that Horford and Jaylen Brown will not be enough to win matches for the team and thus, Celtics are reportedly looking for a third player to complete the trio.
Rumors hinted that Al Horford would manage the defense side on the court and thus provide Jahlil with extra space to play his winning game. But then again, Celtics Blog reported that Boston would not put in many efforts to acquire the 20-year-old player.
On the other hand, few reports suggested that Celtics might also be interested in another top player, the Chicago Bulls' Jimmy Butler. Sports Illustrated reported that Butler will prove as a great scorer and thus, help Boston to position them at the top in the upcoming season.
Earlier reports claimed that the Chicago Bulls were ready to trade Butler in exchange for Providence's No. 3 overall pick Kris Dunn. However, now as the point guard is no longer available on the trading block, it is reported that the Bulls are looking out for new deal options for both the players.
Chicago Bulls general manager Gar Forman claimed that they have dropped the option of trading Butler after the NBA Draft 2016 event. "We have never made a call in regards to Jimmy Butler," said Gar, as reported by Sports Quotient. "We've talked about; we value Jimmy Butler, we're very happy to have Jimmy Butler."
