From past many years, tech giants have been baking a fake cake on April Fools' Day. On this April 1, many popular Web sites tricked users into believing a new stunning product, which in reality is fake. Google, Toshiba and Sony got the top spotlight searching for best prankster of this April Fools' Day.

Let us explore what tricky gags they pulled on their users on Sunday.

Google Maps 8-bit Quest Mode

Google, being the legendry prankster, plays some gags every year. This year they launched a new 8-bit Quest mode in Google Maps on the occasion of April Fool's Day. The new mode has funny retro style graphic. Not just 8-bit online maps, but the Internet search king also launched the same 8-bit Google Maps application for old Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). Quest mode is funny and anyone can easily lose track of time while exploring the world in the old-school style.

YouTube DVD Collection

Google played another prank through YouTube - the most popular online video Web site. The YouTube Collection allows users to order their favorite viral YouTube videos from the Web site. YouTube will ship DVDs by trucks to users' home, where they can watch all favorite YouTube videos while Internet is down or on home TV.

Toshiba Amore: A Heart-Shaped Tablet

Toshiba released android powered heat-shaped Amore tablet on April 1. Not just the shape is heart-style but also the screen. Love-symbol Toshiba tablet is a perfect valentine gift. The company also released two more "shapes" tablets on the occasion - one is oval and another with a tilted screen. Toshiba is planning to take on Apple's new iPad with its new tablet lineup.

Sony Vaio Q Series Ultrabook

Sony 'released' the world's smallest ultrabook on Sunday. The new Windows 7-powered ultrabook has 1.25-inch LED Backlit display with 1080p resolution. It has next-generation Intel Core i9 processor and 8GB of RAM. As a connectivity feature, the new ultrabook supports Wi-Fi. We can put Sony Vaio Q series ultrabook in pocket (the size of the ultrabook is no bigger than a U.S. quarter coin) and also play rich-graphics games on it as it boasts ATI Radeon HD 6650M 1GB graphics card.

Not just these tricks, some other tech pranks also surfaced online like Kangaroo Street View of Australian Google Maps, Apple-Blackberry hybrid phone that runs iOS and equips Blackberry's QWERTY keypad, Diablo 3 on Sony Wii and 42-inch iPad.
